Cross River State will host the 2026 International Coffee Festival from October 30 to November 1 as part of efforts to promote coffee production, investment and value-chain development in the state.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Irrigation Development Johnson Ebokpo said the state plans to distribute 30 million coffee seedlings to farmers over the next five years under its strategic coffee development programme launched in 2024.
The commissioner said Cross River has about 23,000 square kilometres of arable land suitable for coffee cultivation and plans to produce both Arabica and Robusta varieties, with Arabica targeted at highland areas such as Obudu and Robusta in the lowlands.
